Daniel Villeneuve biography
Daniel Villeneuve began his pursuit of contemporary dance with training under choreographer Lucie Grégoire. He graduated from LADMMI in 1995, following which he worked with a number of choreographers, including Lucie Boissinot, Mélanie Demers, Hélène Langevin, Emmanuel Jouthe, Laurence Lemieux, Dominique Porte and Lynda Gaudreau. He was a member of the cast of a 1996 U.S. tour of Jean-Pierre Perreault’s JOE; and again in 2004 which this time toured widely in Québec and in nine European countries. In 1999, he danced in a Canadian tour of Louise Bédard’s Urbania Box and from 2006 to 2008 in Ce qu’il en reste. He joined Le Carré des Lombes in 2002 – 2003 for Bataille and then for Concerto grosso pour corps et surface métallique, which was presented in Croatia, Germany and the Netherlands. In 2004, he performed in Jean-Pierre Perreault’s JOE in nine countries in Europe. More recently, he toured in many european countries as a rehearsal director for Dave Saint-Pierre company.
