Canadian Performing Arts Employers Consider
LADMMI to be Dance Training Leader
Montreal, November 17, 2009 – It is with pride that LADMMI, l'école de danse contemporaine recently received results of a study commissioned by the Department of Canadian Heritage that ranked LADMMI among the country’s top dance schools.
The final report submitted by the research firm Phoenix SPI clearly states that Canadian employers who have used the services of dancers over the past five years rate LADMMI, l'école de danse contemporaine as a leader in this discipline.
In addition, during in-depth interviews, it was agreed that it was important to differentiate various leaders according to the style of dance. “With this in mind (…) the School of Toronto Dance Theatre and LADMMI were rated best in contemporary dance.”
In these interviews, a vast majority of employers in combined disciplines explained that the institutions they identified as leaders stand out from others that provide similar training owing to the top-notch quality of education, training and performing arts programs, as well as the professional and artistic qualifications of teachers.
Regarding hiring in the field of dance, although the majority of employers interviewed were aware of most institutions (57% in the case of LADMMI), less than one third of those aware of each institution had hired graduates from them. One of the most notable exceptions was LADMMI: “The most notable exceptions were the School of Toronto Dance Theatre (…) and LADMMI - L’école de danse contemporaine (44%).”
